PIPELINE COMPOSITE REINFORCING COUPLINGS
Name: Composite reinforcing coupling for pipelines
Purpose: compensation of internal pressure in the pipeline by means of the soldering of contact pressure from the outside.
The composite reinforcing coupling consists of two half-shells made by unidirectional winding of fiberglass or carbon fiber roving on pipelines, then outside the composite reinforcing coupling we use a proper steel clamp like jacket which is connected to each other on one side by a hinge and on the other by bolts,or both sides are connected by bolts and nuts. Bolts are used to tighten the steel clamp so that can tighten the composite coupling to reinforce pipeline wall. The bolts must be equipped with grover washers to prevent loosening under prolonged vibration loads.
The composite reinforcing coupling must allow eliminating external and internal defects, including those caused by squealing. The fiberglass or carbon fiber are preimpregnated before curing, the expoxy resins/hardeners have been mixed together putting into a vacuum packing.
The pipeline composite couplings have been used in the oil and gas industry, it can help prevent and reinforce the pipeline wall,so that pipelines can avoid un-scheduled shutdown or accidents.
